JOIN JULIEN’S ON NOVEMBER 17, 2017 FOR AN OUTSTANDING AUCTION FEATURING COLLECTIONS AND ITEMS SALUTING WORLD LEADERS AND LEGENDS.

The auction will feature the largest collection of Judy Garland costumes and memorabilia in the world representing one of the most iconic and enduring entertainers of all time. Included will be the red velvet dress she wore while singing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” in 1944’s Meet Me in St. Louis (estimate: $6,000-$8,000); the ivory gown worn in 1948 while performing “In Your Easter Bonnet” with Fred Astaire in Easter Parade; a personal piece of luggage she used on a late 1940s Cunard ocean liner and in total over 70 pieces of her personal and professional items.

For the first time in the company’s history, we are proud to present a Nobel Peace Prize medal. Awarded to Sir Cyril Norman Hinshelwood in 1956 by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences for Chemistry, the 23 carat gold medal, weighing 202g has a pre-auction estimate of $200,000-$400,000.

Presidential and Royal items steeped in history and intrigue will also be featured including a 1963 rocking chair commission by President John F. Kennedy (estimate $8,000–$10,000); a piece of souvenir wedding cake from the 2005 marriage of President Donald Trump to First Lady Melania Knausse (estimate $1,000-$2,000); and a three-piece Tyrolean circa 1937 suit (estimate $10,000–$20,000) from the wardrobe of His Royal Highness, formerly King Edward VIII, the Duke Of Windsor.

Nearly 55 years after her death, the allure and mystique of Marilyn Monroe continues to be entrancing and Julien’s continues that tradition by offering a mini pinecone tree gifted from Joe DiMaggio (estimate $2,000-$3,000); a vintage lace fan from the 1957 film The Prince and The Showgirl (estimate $2,000-$3,000) and Marilyn’s screenplay of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, for which she turned down the role of Holly Golightly (estimate: $ 6,000-$9,000).

Other highlights in this auction include: Grace Kelly’s elaborate costume worn in the 1953 African safari classic film Mogambo; Gone With the Wind publicist William R. Fergusons film’s script ($20,000-$30, 000); Ann Margaret’s custom gown worn in the 1975 classic Tommy (estimate: $2,000-$4,000); Barbra Streisand’s gowns designed by Jean Muir (estimate: $1,000-$2,000) as well as her blazer worn in The Main Event, 1979 (estimate: $500–$700).

Action packed pieces by American mavericks, daredevils and sex symbols round out the sale with several items of Evil Knievel including a 1970 Triumph T100c (estimate: $25,000–$30,000); a custom chopper “Captain America” motorcycle created for publicity for the iconic 1969 film Easy Rider featuring Wyatt (Peter Fonda) and Billy (Dennis Hopper), two counter culture, Harley riding hippies who decide to cross American seeking spirituality (estimate: $60,000-$80,000) an original Apollo 6L space suit glove designed for astronaut Neil Armstrong for the 1969 Apollo 11 mission (estimate: $6,000-$8,000).
